Mission Statement
The Association shall be a watchdog organization overseeing the actions of county governments within the Eastern Panhandle as their actions pertain to the building and development trades so as to insure their actions are in compliance with adopted West Virginia Code and local ordinances and to guarantee equal, fair and consistent treatment for all - large and small.
Goals and Objectives:
The Association shall support open government proceedings and will strive to increase community awareness by urging the adoption of televised boards, authorities and commissions meetings through local access cable channels.
The Association shall work to enact the requirement that an orientation and on-going training sessions for all appointees to any county or municipal board or commission be established. Such training would incorporate general principles of the West Virginia Code, procedural and legal requirements of public bodies, and specifically the relevant ordinances, administrative rules, and established policies of the government organization for which they serve.
The Association shall endeavor to have a representative or member attend all municipal and county meetings of boards, authorities and commissions, which pertain to the mission statement, where significant action or decisions are to be discussed, so as to advise the general membership and counsel of these issues.
The Association shall seek to retain such professional-legal services as necessary to compile and compare information gathered from government proceeds for the use and benefit of the association and its members.
